Point 27 is an all-volunteer organization. There are no salaries or compensation for Board Members or Volunteers. In 2018, 95.2% of every dollar was used to strengthen and encourage members of the Armed Forces, First Responders, and their family members with God’s Word. We bring hope, truth, and strength to Americans who risk their lives for the freedom and security of 330 million US citizens. Together they fight external and internal threats to American citizens; to include hostile governments, terrorists, and criminals. There are approximately 2.5 million Americans serving in uniform. That is less than 3/4 of 1% of the American population providing freedom and security for all Americans. Point 27’s mission is to strengthen each of these patriots and point them toward a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Point 27 is growing currently we have 23 volunteers in 19 states who serve as OutReach Coordinators. The role of the OutReach Coordinator is to coordinate with the police, sheriff, and fire departments within their geographical area. They identify the number of people in the departments and communicate the requirement to me. Using this information, I write a letter to the Chief or Sheriff expressing our gratitude for their service and sacrifice and to explain our mission and goals. Then, I send the Dog Tags and the letter to the OutReach Coordinator who in turn presents the letter and Dog Tags to that department. Here are a couple of our OutReach Coordinators in action.
Marcia Johnston, Florida OutReach Coordinator, 2nd from right, presenting Thin Blue Line Dog Tags to the Putnam County, FL Sheriff’s Department. The Dog Tags are engraved with “Blessed are the Peacemakers for they will be called children of God.” Marcia’s son was an officer killed in the Line of Duty. She honors her son’s service and sacrifice by sharing God’s Word with Florida Law Enforcement Officers. She joined Point 27 in June and has already outfitted six departments. Marcia is a force to be reckoned with and it is an honor to serve Christ alongside her.
Rob Miner, Virginia OutReach Coordinator and Gold Star father, is on the right. On the top left is West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin with Gold Star women at the 5th Annual Ride for The Fallen, and the Special Forces Association Convention in Charleston, WV. Rob presented each Gold Star family member with a Folded Flag Necklace engraved with “Greater Love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend,” and to each Veteran a Dog Tag engraved with “I will be strong and courageous, I will not be terrified or discouraged, because the Lord my God is with me wherever I go.” Rob’s son, Robby, was killed while serving in the US Navy. Rob joined Point 27 in July, hit the ground running, and is making an eternal difference in the lives of Virginia based Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Law Enforcement Officers, and Firefighters.
If you are interested in becoming an outreach coordinator or volunteering in any capacity, call, text, or email me. It will be my honor to serve with you.
Thank you for your prayers, time, and treasure. Your gifts are pointing people to Christ and changing lives. The power of God’s Word on a simple piece of metal is truly amazing. That one verse causes a hunger for truth, which ultimately leads people into a relationship with Jesus. Thank you for partnering with Point 27; we cannot do the mission without you.
