Point 27 Testimonials
I just wanted to thank you for the dog tags that you sent our department. I’m wearing mine as I type this. I especially like the fact that it has scripture on one side. We need more scripture in our society and your project is greatly appreciated by many officers. On behalf of the Oklahoma City Police Department, thank you!
Lt. Stan Young

I want you to know, I saw child after child, spouses, co-workers wearing the Shields of Strength Dog Tag and Folded Flag necklaces throughout the conference. I have been approached by Chapter Presidents and Survivors asking who was behind this token of generosity. So on behalf of all our current and past survivors, thank you. You made a huge impact. You gave our survivors a daily reminder of their sacrifices, that they could wear in honor of their fallen officers

Today, members of our Sheriff’s Office received Thin Blue Line flag dog tags in their mailboxes. They all have your business card with them. As a believer, I have seen God’s good work being incredibly effective in our Sheriff’s Office over the last couple years, but especially so since Deputy Parrish was murdered.
The dog tags will be a powerful reminder to so many of our Deputies! Your sharing The Lord’s message will help many of us maintain our strength.

“Thank you Point 27 for your support to the men and women of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. It means a lot!”
Sheriff Joseph Lombardo
Clark County Nevada-Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department
My uncle was Ralph Zylka of the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department. He died in the line of duty. Today at our family Christmas party, I received a Folded Flag Necklace that Point 27 gave to my aunt to give to each member of our family. I cannot begin to express what this meant to me and my family. We cannot say thank you enough. It made everyone in the room cry, not because we were remembering our beloved family member, but because of the love we were feeling in the room that came from you and your staff. … We send our family’s love back to you all and wish you the best as you continue in your efforts.

“You met some officers from the Montgomery County Police Department at a convention in Texas the other week and when they told you about my dear son Officer Noah Leotta, you gave them special necklaces to give to me and my wife. Thank you for these gifts, to honor the service and sacrifice of our dear son Officer Noah Leotta. Your gesture of kindness helps give us strength to deal with our pain and sorrow. We will wear these necklaces proudly.”

Patrolman Tony David just gave me a dog tag you provided and many others for officers with our department. I just wanted to say thank you very much for this kind gesture and sign of support. It is very much appreciated.

I recently returned from some days off to find in my mailbox (and many other mailboxes) the Thin Blue Line Shield of Strength dog tag you sent to all of us. Both personally, and as president of our Deputy Sheriff’s Guild, I want to thank you for the kindness. We have come to expect this type of compassion and generosity from our local folks, but to know that others from across the country are supporting us as well is greatly appreciated.

“The department received the necklaces for the family of Officer Floyd East and the dog tag necklaces for the department. The kind words you shared were heartfelt and we appreciated hearing from you during this difficult time for our department. We will deliver the necklaces to Officer East’s wife and daughters. I am sure they will treasure them.”

“Thank you for your support of Task Force Devil Strike (127th Airborne Engineer Battalion, 1st BDE, 82nd Airborne Division). The Shields of Strength you sent have been a blessing to our unit members. We are continually humbled by the great out flowing of support from the American people. Thank you once again and may God bless you.”
CH (CPT) Task Force Chaplain John Bennett
I received the very thoughtful gift you sent to the Savannah Police Department for the Officers of Anthony Christie’s watch and am in the process of distributing them to the watch. I will also be giving one to Officer Christie’s widow as a remembrance. I deeply appreciate your gesture as do my Officers. I personally had the worst week of my 31 year career starting May 25th, when I lost the first Officer I was charged with and honored to lead to a line of duty death. Gestures like this go so far in the healing process. It is a great feeling to know that there are many wonderful people and companies who are feeling our pain and taking actions to let us know we are not alone. The outpouring of support we have gotten has been uplifting in a difficult time and is greatly appreciated. Again, Thank you so very much for your gift.

“TAPS families have embraced Point 27’s gift of scripture-inscribed Folded Flag Necklaces and Dog Tag Shields of Strength Necklaces, and our survivors have found comfort in the message of hope and the dignity of the symbol. The folded flag represents all loss in the military, regardless of cause of death, and that is a unifying statement for our families. The scriptures are meaningful for those whose spirituality has been challenged by loss, and we have seen families from all faith backgrounds wearing these beautiful gifts with pride.”

I have been approached by chapter presidents and survivors asking who was behind this token of generosity. So, on behalf of all our current and past survivors, thank you. You made a huge impact. I have been overwhelmed with the appreciation with which the Thin Blue Line Shields of Strength have been received by members of our specialty unit. The message of God’s word and his unconditional love has been and continues to be a proven comfort for our officers and their families. The shields have become a great talking point and comfort item to the officers that have received them and have become a moment to share God’s word in a way I simply find fascinating and rewarding.
Marine Patrol Officer Tom Reardon
Good Morning Mr. Dodd,
I just wanted to personally thank you for what you and the members of your staff do at Point 27. On last week Mr. Jerry Rhodes reached out to me in reference to the recent passing of one of our officers. We truly appreciate the Shields of Strength military dog tags that we received on today. I know our officers will greatly appreciate your kindness that you have shown by blessing us with this tremendous gift.
So once again, thank you so much for the great work that you do and may God continue to bless you and your entire organization.
Secretary, Chief of Police, Monroe, LA Sheriff’s Department
I wanted to follow up and let you know how much of an impact the dog tags and necklaces made! We gave them out at the Retirement Ceremony and the responsiveness was incredible – like you David, they never declined them. One woman’s son was heading to Basic Training so I gave her one to take to him – she starts crying, now every time I see her, she thanks me profusely. If I’m not mistaken, she’s not even a believer. Thank you again – it was a privilege to use my retirement platform to spread the Love of Jesus. Let’s stay in touch!

When you often feel like you’re unappreciated, the support from across the country just leaves you speechless. Going through such a tragedy, there’s no way to take away the pain. But it certainly can ease the pain to know that you’re not going through it by yourself.

We here at Connecticut State Police Troop-C have been overwhelmed with the show of support from the Law Enforcement community as well as the general public showing their support in the recent loss of our Brother TFC Kevin Miller #1015. TFC Miller was tragically killed in the Line of Duty as the result of a horrible motor vehicle accident. Troop C was Kevin’s home Troop and he was a great Trooper, Friend and Man. We are all still coming to grasp with the loss of Kevin a little over a month ago. We feel better when we tell stories about Kevin and it makes us all smile to remember the great times we got to share with Kevin. We all feel a sense of the Brotherhood/Sisterhood when we receive warm words of condolence and encouragement or packages showing support from those that have served. Troop C recently received a package from Point 27 with a letter from David Dodd. It meant a lot to the Men and Women at Troop C to receive this package but more importantly the words said by David. I have handed out the Thin Blue Line Dog Tags but there are not enough to distribute to everyone. If possible I would like to obtain sixty (60) more of them so that I can hand them out. We truly appreciate this more than my words could ever express.

For many soldiers, receiving the Shield of Strength dog tag is a highlight of their deployment! They see people receive them each week as they prepare to head home. It is one of the final milestones. Whenever I go to the helicopter landing zone to see people off, they often pull out their dog tags and show the Shield of Strength!”
FSB Chaplain Matthew A. Boarts
“I received a military and police dog tag today. I am a prior service Marine and an active duty police officer. Thank you sir for what you do for first responders and your service to this country.”

“Sgt. Megan Samano just delivered the awesome dog tag gift…with a nice heart-felt story. Thank you so much for thinking of us. It’s the small tokens that touch the hearts and mean the most. You have touched the hearts of many, along with mine, with your generosity! I love the Bible verse on it! Thank you again and may God watch over all those who are ‘fighting the battle’…I will cherish this special gift and wear it with pride.”

David, Last night we had our weekly Bible study at my home and I gave the folded flag necklaces to Chadd Owen (Sgt. Owen’s son) and Tania Owen (Sgt. Owen’s wife). I told them about you and explained our common goal of spreading God’s word! They were both extremely thankful and they will be giving the other necklaces to Shannon (daughter), Branden (son) and Millie (Sgt. Owen’s mother)! I gave Tania your card, and she may be calling you soon. She will be compiling a list of family names who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. She is a Sgt. with the bomb squad for our Department and she will be retiring soon. She is an incredible woman of Christ!
Tania is also going to be part of the 2018 LAPD Hollywood Memorial Ride where they will be honoring fallen heroes across our country!
I will be passing out the dog tags at Lancaster Station and Palmdale Station soon. I will send you pictures from that as well.
Thank you so much David and be blessed,

“Point 27’s gifts of Thin Blue Line Shields of Strength for every DPD officer and Folded Flag Necklaces for survivors of the summer 2016 police shootings means a lot to our officers and the families. We will hold these close to our heart. On behalf of all the men and women in our department. Thank you.”
Executive Assistant Chief David Pughes:

“I’ll keep it brief but I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for your gift to my department. It means a lot sending us the dog tags. Your service to our country and your support through our time of loss is greatly appreciated. It’s very meaningful to see how strong that thin blue line is.”

I attended Police Week this year (2016). One of the stores was handing out your Thin Blue Line dog tags. I grabbed some for my grandchildren, their moms and myself. We are Police Survivors. Those tags meant so much to my family! When their Dad, Sgt. Chris Eney, a US Capitol Police Officer, died in the Line of Duty in 1984, our two girls were only 11 and 9. The minute I gave my girls and their children the dog tags, their faces lit up and they all put them on immediately. When my family wears their tags and someone asks them about them – they are able to tell them someone they loved was a COP. Someone they loved was a part of the solution, and not a part of the problem. Someone they loved was a part of all that is decent and honorable and intrepid about America.
